Enrique Rodríguez Castellón was born in Madrid in 1955. He is licensed in Chemistry by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Master in Chemistry by the University of Puerto Rico (Mayagüez campus) and Doctor in Chemical Sciences by the Universidad de Málaga. He is Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Málaga. He is author of 5 patents and of more than 220 works, principally dedicated to the synthesis of new materials and their applications in environmental catalysis, as well as in of X-rays photoelectronic spectroscopy(XPS). He has directed 13 Theses of Doctorate. He has participated in 6 European projects from 1986, collaborating with the Universities of Montpellier 2, Bologna, Ca'Foscari of Venice, Genoa, Exeter, Consiglio Nazionale delle Richerca, and the companies REPSOL-YPF, UOP; ENI, SNAMPROGETTI, IKO, VIANA, as well as in numerous national projects and of the Junta de Andalusia. He has participated as principal researcher in several International Cooperation projects with the particiapation of the universities of Autónoma de Puebla (Mexico) La Habana (Cuba), Nacional de La Plata (Argentina), Técnica de Córdoba (Argentina), Nacional de San Luís (Argentina), Federal do Ceará (Brazil), Federal do Río Grande do Norte (Brazil), Montevideo (Uruguay), Central de Caracas (Venezuela), Concepción (Chile). It is relevant his interest in joint research projects with Latin-American countries as Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela, Uruguay, Chile and Mexico. At present he takes part in projects oriented to the preparation of nanoporous materials for their use in reactions of environmental interest as the catalytic selective reduction of NO, COV's abatement at low temperatures, the partial oxidation of the H2S, the improvement of diesel fuels and the production of pure hydrogen for fuel cells by means of the steam reforming oxidation of the methanol and the preferential oxidation of CO. He is a founding partner of the company Spin-Off VACOQUING S.L. located in the Technological Park of Andalusia.
